Senior Tax Advisor

This job is part of the international tax group based in Norway which currently consists of a team of 5 people. The group is responsible for all aspects of tax affecting the Norway business and works closely with corporate tax in Houston on tax planning issues.           

Responsibilities

The Senior Tax Advisor may be responsible for:

• Primary responsible providing tax advisory and planning services to the Norwegian Business Unit in relation to ongoing tax cases with regard to petroleum taxation, ordinary income tax and VAT issues
• Contribute to the ongoing tax assessment processes with the Norwegian Petroleum Taxation and other tax authorities
• Advising the business on tax effects of proposed transactions
• Participation in cross-functional teams
• Interacting with outside tax counsel on tax cases

Basic/Required Qualifications

• Legal right to live and work in Norway on a permanent basis without restrictions. 
• BA / MBA, certified accountant or qualified by experience
• Minimum 3 - 5 years experience within Finance, Accounting and/or Tax/Legal matters
• Understanding of Norwegian accounting and tax legislation
• Team working skills required (also interdisciplinary)
• Ability to work independently and self-driven
• Analytical and communication (oral and written Norwegian and English) skills
• High degree of personal integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of Norwegian petroleum taxation
• Well developed business knowledge
• Education and/or experience within law
